The expedition was participated by select women officers of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, who not only displayed excellent navigation skills but also unparalleled courage and dedication. The aim of the expedition was to showcase the maritime capability of women, promote gender equality in the armed forces and strengthen the national vision of ‘Nari Shakti’.
During the voyage, the team successfully completed the expedition with discipline and diligence amid extreme weather conditions, maritime challenges and limited resources. The entire voyage showcased the coordination of India’s tri-services and the unique skills of women officers at the global level.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Defense said, “This expedition is a historic achievement in the field of women empowerment, which will inspire generations to come. This sailing mission is in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Nari Shakti’ and is a strong step towards bringing women of the country forward in every field.
