India’s Aadhaar system has achieved a major milestone with over 150 billion authentications, reinforcing its role as the backbone of the country’s digital infrastructure. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) reported that the biometric ID system now processes 70 million daily authentications, enabling seamless access to banking, subsidies, and government services. Aadhaar’s Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) has streamlined welfare schemes, curbing leakages and ensuring efficient delivery of subsidies like LPG, pensions, and PM-KISAN. With 1.3 billion enrolled users, Aadhaar continues to drive financial inclusion, e-governance, and India’s push toward a $5 trillion digital economy.
