India's agricultural products exports to key markets like Iraq, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and UK increased significantly during April-November 2023. in the same period last year, according to data released by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) on Wednesday. APEDA said its forward-looking strategy includes expanding India's export basket with initiatives focused on priority products such as fresh fruits, vegetables, processed foods and animal products to reduce dependence on a few products and move up the value chain. Involves a change in direction.

In response to feedback from exporters, APEDA is also taking the lead in launching participation in new fairs in emerging markets such as Turkey, South Korea, Kenya, South Africa and Japan. This proactive approach aims to facilitate greater market access for Indian exporters and promote sustainable growth opportunities. With a focus on expansion into key markets such as Europe, Latin America and Asia, Apeda aims to form small partnerships with global supermarkets to showcase its products internationally.

Furthermore, the organization is working on reducing the transportation cost of exports by establishing maritime protocols through collaboration with research institutions. According to an APEDA statement, concerted efforts are also being made to promote SRI Anna-millet in line with the government's vision of developing a healthier and more diverse food landscape. Over the past year, with a special focus during the International Year of Millets-2023, APEDA has worked towards the development and integration of a variety of value-added products under the Shree Anna brand.

This strategic initiative has led to the creation and mainstreaming of various value-added products including pasta, noodles, breakfast cereals, ice creams, biscuits, energy bars and snacks. These products are integrated with the export value chain.
